Madelaine Murphy
Madelaine Murphy lives and works in Leigh On Sea, having qualified in Ceramics from the Crawford College of Art in Ireland, exploring smoke fired sculptural forms, then specializing in Chinese reduction glazes on presentation ware, completing her BA (Hons) in Ceramics at the University of Ulster. Madelaine progressed in the development of large scale figurative forms, completing her MA in Sculptural Ceramics at the University of Wales.
Madelaine has worked and exhibited in Raku for over ten years, exploring the glaze surfaces on a range of both functional and figurative work. Madelaine also builds experimental Raku kilns and provides consultancy with Kelly Foreman to other potters interested in developing this practice.
